All sessions at Eve South Psychology are delivered via secure telehealth, allowing clients to access therapy from the comfort of their own home.
Telehealth can be a flexible and effective way to access psychological support, particularly for young people who may feel more comfortable in a familiar environment.
What to expect
Sessions are conducted via a secure video platform in your web browser
You’ll receive a private link before your appointment via email
Sessions are 50 minutes in length
Telehealth is suitable for clients aged 10 years and over
Eve understands that technical difficulties can occasionally occur. Extra time will be allowed during the first session to work through any technical issues so your appointment is not impacted.
-
The first session is a chance to get to know each other. Eve will spend time understanding your background, current concerns, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. This helps ensure that Eve South Psychology is the right fit for you and allows for the development of a tailored treatment plan.
From there, sessions will gently and gradually focus on unpacking challenges, building insight, and working towards your goals using practical and evidence-based strategies.
Therapy looks different for everyone. Some people notice changes within a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. Eve will regularly check in with you about how therapy is going and adjust the approach as needed.

You do not need a referral to book or attend an appointment.
However, if you would like to access a Medicare rebate, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and referral from your GP.
-
A Mental Health Care Plan is completed by your GP and allows you to claim Medicare rebates for psychology sessions.
With a valid MHCP, Medicare currently provides rebates for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year.
The initial referral usually covers 6 sessions, with a review by your GP required to access additional sessions if needed. You do not need a formal diagnosis to request a Mental Health Care Plan. If you or your child are struggling emotionally or psychologically, your GP can assess whether a plan is appropriate.
When speaking with your GP, it can be helpful to:Request a longer appointment if possible
Explain the concerns you or your child are experiencing
Let them know you wish to see a psychologist for ongoing support
Your GP will complete an assessment and, if appropriate, prepare a Mental Health Care Plan and referral.
-
If you have private health insurance with psychology cover, you may be able to claim a rebate directly through your insurer.
Please note:
You can claim either Medicare or private health, not both
Private health rebates are managed by the client
A tax invoice can be provided for claiming purposes

Eve South Psychology does not currently provide formal psychological assessments or written assessment reports.
This includes assessments for:
ADHD
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Intellectual or cognitive functioning
Eve can, however, provide provisional diagnoses for some mental health conditions as part of ongoing therapy, where clinically appropriate. This includes conditions such as anxiety disorders, depression, and obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD).
Provisional diagnoses are used to help guide therapy and treatment planning and are discussed collaboratively with clients. They are not the same as formal diagnostic assessments and are not intended for use in legal, educational, or administrative settings.
Eve also provides therapeutic support for clients who already have a diagnosis, helping them better understand their experiences and develop practical coping strategies.
If you’re unsure whether therapy or a formal assessment is the most appropriate next step, you’re welcome to get in touch to discuss your options.
